Covid-19 National Booster Vaccination Programme – Booster 2
Further to recommendations from NIAC the HSE is progressing the implementation of a Second Covid Booster Vaccination Programme for the following cohorts of patients:
- those over the age of 65, and
- those aged 12 years and older with immunocompromise associated with a weak immune system can also now get their Second Booster when it is due for them
Time Interval between Booster 1 and 2
The minimum interval period is four months after the first booster.
Where a patient has had Covid, the second booster vaccine is deferred for a minimum interval of four months following infection onset. This includes confirmation through a PCR test or antigen test (including those self-reported by patients).
